- Specific developments to improve production processes, with particular attention to quality and food safety
FDA Detentions
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the United States Government ensures that all products imported into its territory comply with the expected standards and are safe for North American consumers. If a product imported into the United States shows signs of alteration, is mislabeled or not approved for its entry, the FDA stops it avoiding its release (Detentions).
Agricultural production
From the point of view of safety and quality of food, producers must provide self-control. Only in this way can the correct evaluation of agricultural practices be guaranteed. The planning of these self-checks is of fundamental importance in order not to incur non-compliance or waste by the target markets. In terms of quality, AGQ Labs specializes in the development of studies that correlate product quality with in-field nutrition.
Aquaculture
The demand for sea products, and in particular those from aquaculture, continues to increase significantly each year. In this new trend of breeding it is essential a careful control of the inputs for the production of fish and seafood, especially in relation to the control of raw materials and feed. Similarly, captive breeding involves the establishment of very demanding models of self-control of the quality and safety of products.
Processed foods
Every day consumers require more elaborate and sophisticated food to satisfy an increasingly demand, eager for new tastes in search of greater convenience. Transformation products have a greater weight on the global consumer shopping list.
The quality control of these products is subject to higher standards and sanitary requirements that require greater attention of companies. Likewise, an important role is played by the knowledge of international legislation for those who are the most mobile producers - import and export -, with a greater focus on preserving the nutritional value of products.
Food Service
Every day the number of meals that are taken away from home is increasing, both for work needs and for the need for socialization when it comes to enjoying food.
The distribution of prepared food and meals is subject to increasingly strict rules for hygienic and microbiological control every day. Having to make daily control plans and having to ensure the safety of the product minute by minute throughout the production process, it is necessary to be careful, especially in the quality controls of the raw material, the cleaning of machinery and work tools. It is also necessary to take care of the transport chain to ensure and guarantee maximum freshness and safety at the point of consumption.
Distribution
Most of the foods nowadays are sold in supermarkets. This is why it is essential to rely on processes and tools that facilitate proper control of food safety. AGQ Labs has specialized in this sector, offering global solutions to ensure that both suppliers and producers meet the established criteria.
Drinks
Availability and assortment of drinks in the market grows every day. In many cases they are very elaborate products, coming from very diversified production processes and with complex ingredients.
It is important to guarantee the stability of drinks, as well as the homogeneity of their composition and their sensorial value. It is therefore necessary to carry out a thorough control of the additives, colorings, aromas and other elements.
Animal feed
In the last 20 years, the animal feed sector has suffered a revolution, both due to the international legislative pressure on welfare and protection of animals, as well as the growing demand for food from intensive practices and greater attention to pets.
An accurate control of the contaminants in the raw materials should be carried out, coming every day from the most distant sources, and subject to many productive pressures, with the risk of bioaccumulable pollutants causing unwanted cross contamination.
